A day with the Romans

To mark the end of our Roman topic we had a school trip to St Albans.

We visited the Museum whrere we had the opportunity to make mosaics,

build Roman arches and dress up as Romans. It was very interesting

to learn about Roman life in ”Roman street” at the museum.

We walked around the ancient walls of Verulamium and saw the remains

of a Roman townhouse with a wonderfull mosaic still intact. Under the

mosaic was the original hypocaust, a Roman underfloor heating system.

Since getting back to school we have been inspired to build our own models

of Roman structures.
